Frequently asked
- Why won't my eSIM QR code scan?
- The QR code must be displayed on a second screen - you cannot scan it with the same phone that is installing it. Open the email on a laptop, or use the manual entry / activation link instead.
- My eSIM installed but there's no data. What now?
- Set the travel eSIM as your Cellular Data line, turn Data Roaming ON for that line only, and toggle airplane mode for ten seconds. Data roaming must be on - it is how the eSIM reaches the local partner network.
- Why is my eSIM showing 'No Service'?
- Manually select a network: Settings → Cellular → Network Selection → turn off Automatic and pick a listed operator. Also confirm you've actually arrived in a covered country - most travel eSIMs only activate on the local network.
- Can I reinstall an eSIM if I delete it?
- Most profiles can only be installed once. If you deleted it by accident, contact support and we can re-issue the activation profile - usually within minutes.
- Why is my eSIM data so slow?
- Check you are on 4G/5G rather than a fallback network, and that you have not used your full high-speed allowance. Moving outdoors or manually re-selecting the operator often fixes a weak roaming attachment.
- Do I need to turn data roaming on?
- Yes - for the travel eSIM line only. A travel eSIM always connects as a roaming guest on a local partner network, so with roaming off it shows bars but no data. Leave roaming off on your home line.
- I never received my activation email. What should I do?
- Check spam and any promotions tab first, then use the recovery page to have your eSIM and QR code re-sent to the email you purchased with.
- Can I activate an eSIM before I arrive?
- Install it at home over Wi-Fi so any issue is resolved before you fly. It stays idle until it finds a covered network at your destination.
- Do I need Wi-Fi to install an eSIM?
- Yes - the profile downloads over the internet, so you need Wi-Fi or an existing data connection at the moment of install. That is why installing before departure is safest.
- Why does my phone say 'Cellular Plan Cannot Be Added'?
- That usually means the profile was already installed once, the code was mistyped, or the phone is carrier-locked. Confirm the unlock status, then contact support to have the profile re-issued.
